Drawing #1

STATIC ROLE PLAY INVESTIGATIONS
The latest in a series of drawings whilst I am working on more video footage.  There is a conversation I am trying to start between real time conversations around boundary transgression, classical anatomical depictions, and finally, an esoteric / mythological aspect.  This part hasn't been resolved yet.  A friend suggested using Darth Vader but that just doesn't seem right.

CONCERT AT BMW EDGE
Bringing together several of this country's leading sonic experimentalists this monumental collaboration including Oren Ambarchi and Marco Fusinato will take the form of a single epic work incorporating elements from a wide and divergent spectrum of approaches and disciplines: from the home spun motorised guitars of Sydneysider Brendan Walls to the piano interventions of James Rushford to the synaesthesiac laser projections of Robin Fox.

The show was great.  Have to say that I really enjoyed the ol' smoke and laser effects!

El Automovil Gris

TEATRO CIERTOS HABITANTES
The 1919 Mexican silent film El Automovil Gris was the biggest hit of its day. Mixing fiction and reality, it tells the story of The Grey Automobile Gang who terrorised Mexico City during the chaos of the Revolution. This 21st century Mexican theatre production juxtaposes the classic film with live actors and brilliantly improvised piano music. Inspired by the Japanese Benshi tradition, with actors onstage voicing the characters onscreen, El Automovil Gris takes the audience on a wild, exhilarating ride that crisscrosses languages, cultures and time.

AMAZING!  Fascinating working method.  This show was a total treat.

Painting #1

Small gouache paintings.  Silk petals that I collected from a nearby cemetery are the subject.

Toorak, Melbourne in the 60's

Before me.  Before divorce.  Before the six million dollar man.

Self-loathing and Ambition #1

Examples of current video work.  Some initial character development, Self-loathing and Ambition acting as caricatures of desire.

Freudian Sniff!

Maybe about cosmetic surgery but it does remind me of Freud's early speculations about nose shape and psychological disposition.  Commiserations to all those out there with a honking proboscis.

Charles Burns

I have printed an A0 copy of this art and have it mounted on my light box.  Fingers crossed she might be my next honey.  The tears and backward glance get me every time.

Old school logos

Such beautiful proportions!

Sound Work

The exercise asked for a response to think, experience, and make projects dedicated to generating sound.

Black Houses

This is some of my work.  The images were sourced from English country real estate advertisements.  Experiences of 'home' are an interesting subject to me.  These quick drawings suggest psychic holes and ominous origins.
