Day two in Paris

Saw two amazing Patrick Blanc garden walls today, one at the Musee Branly and the other at Persching Hall. This is the ritzy side of town for sure! All the action up towards the Champs Elysee is high end. Guess what? The Palais de Tokyo was best for post cards, how about that contemporary art action! Can't believe the que for the Eifel Tower but at the same time I can. Not my thing, lucky it was enough of a blast to sit underneath the goliath.

Gay Paris

Three days to strut my stuff in Paris before coming home and it is constant rain. F U C K in the USA man! Six hours of walking around with wet cold feet is dull. I had to make myself take some pictures, as you can see, me not so gay. Not true! Got some serious Voodoo shit at the Cartier Foundation, and saw some real A1 Cartier Bresson prints! HOooooooo, that was an unexpected treat, he was such a spunk. The cognac made a BIG difference. That's my mona lisa smile I think, my umberella, the Pantheon, an old Peugeot, some other spectacular joint, and a bit of photoshop.

For those who like a bit of kink

Well would you just look at that! Arm rests, multiple rolls, trapezes. The public toilets in Frankfurt airport oh yeah.

Heide Blues

The change of pace from travelling brings a different sort of sensitivity. I haven’t been more perceptive, but closer to recognising disease, which is amazing for me. Sure enough most times some shit goes down that links up with my prior anxiety. Stuff like missing flights. My bag got left behind from onward flight to Paris. Had a few fireworks in Germany. Poor frauline is very unhappy so I was lucky to have a real hard rock German ACDC cover band night out with Tilman. This resulted in a pretty severe hang over but that didn’t stop me from trying to get into see the women’s world cup football final. We went all the way into Frankfurt to try and get tix but scalpers were trying for 250 to 500 euro! We went to an American pub and watched USA give the game away on the big screen. The drink score: Stephanie several cocktails, me a glass of iced water. Go Nippon!!! Wambach is such a spunk!!!! I felt very uncomfortable with the loss, which was the fault of the USA defense, you know, being a defender of old.

Kinda Creepy

I think this was my first real introduction to the effects of chronic alcoholism. It was a spectacular day in Heidelberg by the way. The entire family was deeply steeped in inter-racial trophy relationships, along with two friends also in the game. I had to snap the creepy lady, bless, it could have so easily been me I thought. Turns out she was a sister of the bride, married with children. Later that afternoon she danced with the groom and remarked that that was the first dance she had had since her wedding 20 years ago. We got out of there as ASAP. That’s army talk and very appropriate because the United States Army really was the chaperone for almost all of the partnerships there that day. The frightening prospect of taking what is available! Did I mention the wedding vows were an mpeg R&B track?

Get yee to the Schloss!

And now for the castle tour. Built in the 1600's the grounds are beautiful. American army is based here in Heidelberg, so they spared the city from bombing in WWII. How considerate. Another nice trip through the forest and this time on top of the old bridge. Just been out to dinner and drinks with Tilman which was cool. People! What are they like!!!

Sally up to the monastry

I could have stayed here, tended the goats and the cattle, worked in the garden and been all contemplative. Anyway, we just visited. This is where I scored the special schnapps and the amazing mountain stream, monk made weiser bock beer. Wow. Another beautiful walk through the forest and a nice trip home back along the Nekar River.

Later that day

With the beautiful weather I took the chance to go swimming in the Aare River. Such a great look, all these heads floating along with the current! It was going along at a fair clip too, but not too cold I'm happy to say. Took a few snaps of the old church, the old bridge, and the new bridge for balance. Only last year the Swiss tried to pass a law that said you could marry your own sister! Lots of inbreeding in them thar hills! BELIEVE IT!

A walk in the Black Forrest

I waited until it was just about to rain before setting off for my first walk in the woods of Confederation Helvetica.

Lost and memories of wolves

My sense of direction has been a little off these holidays so I decided to play a game of make as many turns as you can before becoming hazy about the way home. Concentrate! Anyway, the rain started falling, lightening flashing and thunder clapping and the way home was a bit harder to remember. Then I was thinking about the wolf in the Anton Ginzberg artwork from the Bienalle. Yikes!
