Yoowan Yang @ Monash

Beautiful pieces! Love the look of thick glass that has been cut. And for those that like a bit of Warrandyte pottery these have sexy ceramic bits too. Very cool hybrid objects. Birthday anyone? Can be seen here http://www.artdes.monash.edu.au/gradshow2011/finearts/glass/yoowanyang/index.html

Up she rises

All's well that end's well. The tools that were available. A broom and a diary to measure, and a paint stirrer to bash the pins in. Very sophisticated. Thanks to Michael Bullock seen here fixing the lights. Got a bit hot, but that may have had something to do with too much whisky the night before? And a dodgy shot where you can see the projector set-up. Hopefully there will just be a few typo's to fix up and some decent feed back would be nice, before I go on to take over the world. My post grad training is complete. Put that up your left nostril sideways, or better than a kick in the head.

Team Examiners are Go!

MFA show goes up next Monday and come Tuesday these fellas are going to examine my submission. Pretty excited about having Richard Harding (image courtesty of his fakebook page) and Ian Haig (image from his site http://www.ianhaig.net) on board to look at my work. They got projection, invention an' a whole lota queer goin' on. Just right goldilocks, just right.

Little Dragon

Swedish electro/soul outfit Little Dragon. “The sweet spot separating Motown and Paisley Park” - Esquire. Source http://little-dragon.net. Got caught in the hip by track Crystalfilm via the crazy Russian dude drugoy who flagged weird music from India and Pakistan for me.

Fetching!

And this is how it was done. Auter in his suburban studio; organised, relaxed, and no fucking alcohol. God danm! There is going to be a party. Put a pin in that.

Let the showreel begin

Marathon session over the weekend. Six videos of singular something. Check it! Five years on now that's something to think about. Been musing over teaching part time and studyinig part time. Good for keeping the student perspective, but it makes work seem a bit stale. Whatever. Have to work harder in general. Shoot shoot shoot it down shoot it down. Mindfulness.

Weird music from India and Pakistan

All good if you can read russian.

More yoga

Swami Vishnu Devananda as a young sprat. Practicing yoga in the mornings again. Can be a bit confronting because as usual the energy gained reverberates into my mental state. I begin to dream of teaching yoga once more but unrealisticly high expectations make this a daunting proposition. I would hope to transport people, not in an egotistical way but so that they access the levels of intensity that have been my experience.

Romalang 17

For those who are curious.

Astrobabble: the Zine for Astrology Nerds #1

Scorpio (24 October to 22 November)
A new era of expressing yourself creatively using the zine format begins on 3 February, when Neptune enters your fifth house. You let it rip with the Romalang 17, deranged ideas, and dodgy artwork. Producing DIY to a Kenny G playlist unleashes your artistic urges in debased ways. Seek therapy urgently.

Images most queer from Johannes Engel's Astrolabium Planum - Images of the degrees (Scorpio/Pisces) and lewd text from http://astrobabylon.blogspot.com.au/ courtesy of exploring Sticky website about zine fair this Sunday at Melbourne Town Hall. Oh the portent!

Astrobabble: the Zine for Astrology Nerds #2

Pisces (18 February to 20 March)
Communication planet Mercury weaves in and out of your sign from February until April. Expect a few months of talking gibberish before you stop making sense altogether. Mars retrogrades in your relationship sector. You will have to wait until Easter to get laid, and even then, it’s only eggs. At least they’re made of chocolate.

Professional Derangement

You wouldn't think I could be in such a good mood after surviving a Bureaucratic Cancer session by the Greek housewife who wants to be an American motivational speaker. But there you have it. Something to do with a 20ft koala terrorising downtown Taipei. Pop that in your resume and smoke it.

More cool peeps

It was hot. And did I mention boring? I was hoping for a trans pride extraveganza and got soggy biscuit with gay spunk and lezzo milk. Poo poo.

Queer Roller Derby Sucks!

Hannah you are so glam! Community my arse! This event was a joke: its good intention ignored and boring to boot. I'll stick my bloody boot in!

MFA type posters

After months of saying what I was going to do I have actually done it! Spent last night hand rendering lettering and then today scanned and vectorised artwork for printing A1 posters. Originally I was going to print silver ink onto black paper but the goal is to mark them up and move them on quite frankly. These posters are a bit of a piss take in light of the fact that the videos are pretty obscure. Really tempted to go and get these printed now, but will resist urge and get them proofed by someone who can really spell first. The end is so close!

Focumentaries

Have had trouble getting a recording through audacity, or rather through the workstation. Considering what sort of assets to generate for project extensions into motion and hand held devices. Bloody doing everything. Can't wait to get home and have a bath. Yawn.
